Habesha Breweries S.C. is looking for a Junior Attorney and Corporate Counsel which is a Grade 10 position per the Company’s job grading. 

The Role Summary:

Working with the team, the post holder will assist Legal and Shareholders ‘Affairs Manager in reviewing legal documents, advising different departments of the company and in the administration of shareholders’ affairs.

Major roles include;

  • Proactive legal risk management activities;
  • Handling of any contentious or non-contentious legal matters of the Company;
  • Prepares pleadings based on the legal requirements as stipulated in the civil procedure code of Ethiopia and other relevant laws
  • Prepare, file and plead cases in court in pursuit of amounts owed to the Company and represent the Company before any tribunals or courts;
  • Draft and/or review legal letters, contracts and agreements and monitor legal obligations under agreements to ensure compliance, as requested.
  • Advise on statutory compliance
  • Research and prepare legal opinions on various matters
  • Handle the day today activities of the department as directed by the Manager;

 

Job Requirements

The Person:

A university level degree in law and 3 years of work experiences in a similar role with good communication and expression ability are the necessary requirements of the role.
